Texarkana Insurance Defense Lawyer: R. Gary Nutter

Gary Nutter joined the firm in 1969 and he became a partner in 1974. A native of Harriman, Tennessee, Mr. Nutter earned a BA degree from Hendrix College in 1967, and a JD degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1971.

A natural litigator, Mr. Nutter enjoys the challenge of representing his clients' interests in court and striving to attain a difficult goal on their behalf. He appears in Arkansas and Texas State Courts, and in the US Supreme Court, the US District Court in the Eastern District of Texas, and the US District Court in the Western District of Arkansas. He relates to the entirety of his clients' situations, and he is interested in their on-going lives and in the overall business decisions related to their legal concerns. His practice focuses on insurance defense and medical malpractice defense.

In addition to the State Bars of Arkansas and Texas, Mr. Nutter is member of the Texarkana, Southwest Arkansas, the Northeast Texas Bars; the American and Arkansas Bar Associations; the Texas and Arkansas Bar Foundations; the Texas and Arkansas Associations of Defense Counsel; the International Association of Defense Council; the Defense Research Institute; and the American Board of Trial Advocates.

In his spare time, Mr. Nutter worked with other community members to establish the Greater Texarkana People's Clinic, Inc., in 2004, an organization staffed by volunteer physicians and other medical personal committed to providing medical care to the growing uninsured population in the area. He continues to take pride and pleasure in his ongoing service to the organization.
