Texarkana Trial Lawyer: Winford L. Dunn, Jr.
For Winford Dunn, the practice of law is both a vocation and an avocation. First admitted to the bar in 1967 in Texas and Arkansas, Mr. Dunn appears in front of the US Supreme Court, US District Court in the Eastern District of Texas, US District Court in the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, and the 5th and 8th Circuits of the US Court of Appeals.
Since his youth, Mr. Dunn has admired the American judicial system. He sees it as the most important of the three branches of the US government; the jury system allows democracy to operate. He values being a lawyer because of the opportunity it affords to participate in democracy and to help others. His broad trial experience has allowed him to make a positive difference in the lives of countless individuals.
Mr. Dunn is proud to participate in Dunn, Nutter, & Morgan's ongoing legacy of service to the Texarkana community. A native of De Kalb, Texas, he earned his LLB degree form the University of Texas Law School in 1967. He serves on the American, Arkansas, Texarkana, Northeast Texas, and Southwest Arkansas Bar Associations, and is a past president of two of those organizations. He is a member of the Texas and Arkansas Bar Foundations, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, and Delta Theta Phi. He served as President of the East Texas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and as National Director of that organization in 1997-1998.
Committed to his community, Mr. Dunn has participated in neighborhood development and improvement projects, in historical preservation efforts, and in charitable organizations helping disabled people.
